When I first met Simon I was very nervous being a new driver, but instantly he made me feel welcomed and comfortable in his car. He’s very calm and understands that you might feel nervous. As I got to know him, he really understood the things I really needed to work on from the basics up until the day of my test. Passed my driving test first time with ‘Drive with Simon’.  From the first moment I stepped into the car he was extremely reassuring and I immediately felt at ease.  Simon’s friendly and approachable manner was exactly what I needed from an instructor.  Although we had many disruptions throughout the Covid pandemic, Simon kept me updated at all times and always followed the government guidelines.  I live quite a distance out of town but Simon did not see this as a problem and arranged my lessons to suit around my location and college hours.  I would highly recommend Simon as a driving instructor and have already done so to a good friend who is already benefitting from his expertise.  Thanks for all your hard work Simon – I will miss our chats.  😊

Before I started my driving journey with Simon, I’d had a year’s driving experience with another instructor. With my previous instructor I felt I was seen as just another learner who is learning to drive or at least that is how I felt. I decided that partnership wasn’t beneficial towards me or my driving and therefore I contacted Simon who had been suggested to me many times. Driving with Simon and using his methods to drive gave me the confidence I needed to pass my test, not only did he help me learn how to drive safely but he pushed me in order for me to perform my best. My driving journey was somewhat long and eventful. I took my first ever test in my hometown Manchester where I used a well-known driving school, I very quickly realised my instructor wasn’t supportive and would send me random YouTube links to watch and learn from instead of explaining or showing me himself. I personally didn’t feel this was the way I could learn as I didn’t always receive the practical lesson. I have been diagnosed with anxiety and I remember the lack of compassion and support from my first instructor when he said “I don’t think you’re ready for this test but you’re just going to have to do it anyway” this played a huge role in me not feeling confident when taking my test and in turn failing. I then moved to Lincolnshire for work where I discovered Simon, he had so many positive reviews so I took my chances. I had to restart my driving journey as Simon noticed I was unaware of a lot of the basics. I was also able to open up about my mental health and how it affects my driving. Simon would have a new idea to help me every week, in order to figure out which method works best for me. We soon learnt that driving and commentating out loud on my driving was a good way to prevent me from thinking and feeling nervous/anxious. I gave this a try during my test and it worked. I was able to focus on my driving and passed my test. I am beyond grateful to Simon for helping me figure out a method to become a confident driver. It has been a pleasure to learn to drive with Simon while having a laugh and a joke! Thank you once again Simon!

Simon is a fantastic driving instructor, especially if you’re a nervous driver – I went from being the most anxious person to passing my test with only 2 minors. Simon is very calm and patient, which is very important to me as I couldn’t work with an instructor who raised his voice or got annoyed with me. He was very understanding and flexible when it came to lessons, he always did his best to have lessons that fitted around my work hours. Before I started taking lessons I was terrified of driving, and I only started lessons out of necessity – now I look forward to getting in the car (and I make excuses to go places just so I can drive!) I would thoroughly recommend Simon as a driving instructor.

I would just like to say a massive thank you to Mr Simon Adams for helping me to achieve my goal. I started driving lessons as an ambition to show myself that I could do it. It was very hard work for me and for Mr Simon Adams. I had moments when I wanted to quit thinking that driving is not for all of us and particularly me. I always wanted to be perfect in a short time. Mr Adams believed in me, sometimes more then I did in myself. He didn’t let me quit. He said that I was working to hard and one day my dream would come true. And that day just came. Simon was a wonderful instructor and teacher, helping me at every stage. The methods used which included  practice questions and hazard perception videos, quickly helped me through my theory test ready to move on to practical driving. As someone who hadn’t driven before I was a little anxious but through my first lesson Simon made me feel at ease, taking me through everything at a pace which I was comfortable with. Ensuring that I had all the knowledge and skills for my test, and was ready before making a booking. Preparing for each lesson with his workbook allowed for the majority of the lesson to be driving, putting the theory into practice. Simon’s flexible approach also enabled me to tailor each lesson to what I needed and wanted to practice rather than following a rigid lesson structure, again making me feel as comfortable and confident as possible. I was extremely happy with the progress I made in my driving through Simon’s methods and experience as an instructor, and would highly recommend Simon to any new driver!

Simon is a very good instructor, when I started I was completely clueless about everything regarding a car. However, with the well structured lessons that Simon’s system provides and help I was able to become a confident driver. Simon is very understanding and patient, and made me feel completely at ease behind the wheel. He was never late and during the lessons he helped me completely overcome my hesitation; especially in roundabouts. His workbook and DVD are great tools, they allow you to see your progress and what you need to improve on. I have nothing but great words to say about Simon, I started with only wanting 1 hour lessons due to my anxiety and nervousness. I was very timid and not confident in my abilities at all. I previously had lessons with another local driving instructor and the comparison between them to Simon is next to none. Simon was very patient and accommodating, was never late, very professional and made me feel completely at ease. He sent me over some very helpful guides on how to deal with anxiety when it comes to driving which helped massively and he always believed in me. Never did he act unprofessional even when I did take him the wrong way a couple of times! Simon’s way of learning is truly magnificent, I have learnt so much and I really do believe I couldn’t have done it without Simon. You also get a great handbook which was such an important part of me passing my driving test first time. I learnt to drive with Simon from the very start. All of the things I couldn’t do I learnt at a manageable pace. He is a very good instructor. I did a semi intensive course, which I would highly recommend, this is a great course for someone learning to drive, every week have a lesson get it out of  the way and learn more. A great thing I liked about learning to drive with Simon Is that I had a learning book so every lesson I did I could write in what I did and what I could do next time to improve. The book also has quizzes which really helps as it recaps from your theory all in all a fantastic learning experience.

Hi Simon just writing to say how thankful I am for all of your help and support, I couldn’t have done it without you. When I first started my lessons I was extremely nervous and very unsure of myself but you constantly reassured me and helped me if I found myself in any difficulties. I had Simon Adams as my driving instructor. The whole experience was made so enjoyable through Simons methods of teaching and learning processes. I couldn’t fault the effort Simon put into my driving experience through booking lessons on my birthday, which was on a Sunday when he doesn’t usually work, and through countless phone calls to do with driving routes and random questions. His methods of driving sets you up to be such a confident and skilled driver, when I went for my test I felt like I showcased more skills and techniques than the examiner was looking for. The process Simon employed involved receiving a workbook where you filled out what you set out for yourself to achieve in the lesson, and then reviewing your performance after. This process forces you to critique yourself on all the little things you need to work on and continually improves your driving. The LDC website Simon recommended is a great tool I found for my theory test revision, repeatedly going through multiple choice questions and the hazard perception. I would 100% recommend Simon,
couldn’t fault the process, the methods and the jokes.
